Summary
An outbreak of Zaire ebolavirus among gold-mining workers in remote camps near Mékouka, north-east Gabon, infected 52 people with 31 deaths (CFR 60%). Initially misdiagnosed as yellow fever. Spread was limited by the isolation of the camps and quick burial practices.
